SYNOPSIS: Expect mostly dry and mild weather today with light winds and a clear sky. After a frosty start in some interior valleys, temperatures will warm up to above-normal levels in the afternoon. It should be a pleasant day with sunny conditions.
TODAY:
Inland: Patchy frost before 11am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 81. Calm wind.
Along the Coast: Patchy fog between 8am and 11am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 58. Light and variable wind becoming north 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.
TONIGHT:
Inland: Increasing clouds, with a low around 42. Calm wind.
Along the Coast: Partly cloudy, with a low around 38. North wind 5 to 9 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Extended Forecast: Dry weather will continue through Friday, though a few clouds and breezy conditions may develop. A weak frontal system is expected to bring light showers to the northern part of the region on Friday night into Saturday, particularly in Del Norte and Humboldt counties. Over the weekend and into early next week, the weather will become cooler and wetter, with heavier rain expected in the northern areas. Winds will increase, especially along the coast, and there is potential for 1 to 2 inches of rain in the northern parts of the region by Sunday. Fire weather concerns may arise early next week, especially in southern areas that remain dry.
