SYNOPSIS: Light rain showers will continue today, with gusty winds especially in coastal Del Norte and Humboldt counties, where gusts could reach up to 25 mph. Snow levels will remain above 4,000 feet, and rain is expected to be most intense along the north coast.

Inland: Rain likely, mainly before 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 63. South wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Along the Coast: Rain, mainly before 11am. High near 58. South southwest wind 10 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
TONIGHT:
Inland: A 40 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 42. Southeast wind around 5 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Along the Coast: A 50 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49. South southeast wind 8 to 10 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Extended Forecast: Showers will persist through Friday, and a stronger front is expected to move in late Friday afternoon, bringing more widespread rain, mountain snow, and gusty southerly winds into Saturday. Rainfall from Friday through Sunday could total between 0.75 to 1.5 inches, mainly along the northern coast. Southerly winds will strengthen ahead of the front, with gusts reaching 30-45 mph along exposed ridges and headlands. Snow levels will start around 4,000 feet, but they are expected to rise slightly Friday afternoon, confining most significant snowfall to higher elevations in northeastern Trinity County. Showers will continue into Sunday, keeping conditions wet and blustery across the region.
