SYNOPSIS:  Few isolated showers continue to diminish as a cold

upper low progresses south. Clearing and drying will allow for

some colder overnight lows. A sharp warmup with building high

pressure can be expected for the end of the week, followed by some

rain chances.

TODAY: 

Inland: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 56. North northwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.

Along the Coast: Isolated showers before 11am. Partly sunny, with a high near 53. North northwest wind 7 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

TONIGHT:  

Inland: Patchy fog after 5am. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 38. North northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light north after midnight.

Along the Coast:  Mostly cloudy, with a low around 38. North wind 6 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Extended Forecast: A low-pressure system south of Northwestern California will continue to bring some diminishing showers this afternoon. There are frost and freeze conditions expected overnight, particularly in inland areas like Mendocino and Lake counties, where a Freeze Warning and Frost Advisory are in effect. Temperatures will warm up by the weekend as high pressure moves in, bringing highs in the 60s and 70s. However, light rain and some southerly winds are expected by Sunday and Monday.
