SYNOPSIS: Cooler overnight temperatures with pleasant daytime
highs will continue again today although winds will be lighter.
Clouds, cooler temperatures and a chance of rain are forecast
Thursday afternoon through Saturday. Dry weather is expected to
return Sunday and into next week.
TODAY:
Inland: Sunny, with a high near 73. North northwest wind 6 to 10 mph.
Along the Coast: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy early, then becoming sunny, with a high near 58. Calm wind becoming northwest 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon.
TONIGHT:
Inland: Partly cloudy, with a low around 45. North wind 6 to 11 mph becoming light after midnight.
Along the Coast: Patchy fog before 2am, then patchy fog after 5am. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a low around 44. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Extended Forecast: Convective activity fizzled overnight but is expected to return this afternoon and Thursday, with isolated thunderstorms possible in the eastern mountains of Trinity, Mendocino, northern Lake, and nearby counties. Light rain may accompany storms, though coverage will remain sparse and localized. By Friday, a closed low will bring more widespread showers, cooler temperatures in the 50s, and limited thunderstorm potential due to increased cloud cover. Conditions begin to clear by Sunday, with lingering showers Saturday and overnight lows in the 30s—especially in interior valleys—before a modest warm-up under clearer skies.
