SYNOPSIS:  Dry weather with above normal interior high temperatures

expected today and Thursday. Chance of rain and possible interior

thunderstorms are forecast for Friday through Saturday. Much cooler

temperatures and strong blustery winds expected this weekend.

TODAY: 

Inland: Sunny, with a high near 80. North wind 3 to 8 mph.

Along the Coast: Mostly cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 61. North northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

TONIGHT:  

Inland: Clear, with a low around 46. North wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Along the Coast:  Increasing clouds, with a low around 43. North northwest wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Extended Forecast: Northwest California will enjoy warm and mostly dry conditions through Friday, with interior temperatures peaking in the mid to upper 80s and coastal areas seeing cooler, breezy weather. Patchy coastal low clouds and fog will clear each morning, though some stratus may return with light drizzle possible by early Friday. A weak trough arriving late Friday could trigger isolated thunderstorms over interior mountains, mainly in Trinity County. Cooler, windier weather arrives over the weekend, with strong northerly winds and a slight chance of lingering showers or high mountain snow Saturday, followed by drier, calmer conditions and possible morning frost Sunday.
