SYNOPSIS: A frontal system will bring a chance of rain and breezy
southerly winds to Del Norte and northern Humboldt Counties on
Thursday. Otherwise, dry and warmer weather is expected today
through Thursday. Blustery northerly winds and cooler temperatures
are expected for Friday and Saturday, followed by gusty offshore
flow and interior warming Sunday and Monday.

TODAY:

Along the Coast: Patchy fog between 8pm and 2am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 44. North northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Extended Forecast: Warmer temperatures are expected today as an upper ridge boosts interior highs into the mid to upper 70s in areas like SE Mendocino and Southern Lake counties. Stratus may approach the coast, but southerly winds ahead of a frontal system on Thursday could bring some warming to the North Coast if the fog erodes. A light rain event is anticipated on Thursday, primarily affecting Del Norte County. Heading into Friday and Saturday, strengthening northwesterly winds and gusts up to 50 mph are possible, especially along coastal headlands and ridges, with colder temperatures and potential frost in interior valleys. High pressure builds into the northern Great Basin by Sunday, leading to milder conditions but chilly overnight lows. Uncertainty increases early next week, with dry and mild conditions expected to persist, though a cut-off low may bring light showers to the interior.
