NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE REPORT

Wednesday, August 13th, 2025

SYNOPSIS: Hot and dry weather will continue to slowly ease through midweek with shallow marine air along the shore. Gusty northwest wind will accompany building marine influence late in the week.

TODAY:

Inland: Sunny, with a high near 94. Light south wind.

Along the Coast: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 63. West northwest wind 3 to 8 mph.

TONIGHT:

Inland: Mostly clear, with a low around 55. North wind around 10 mph.

Along the Coast: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 55. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Extended Forecast: Temperatures will gradually cool down starting Wednesday as high pressure gives way to a coastal weather system, bringing the chance for drizzle or light rain near the coast. This system isn’t expected to be stormy, but rather bring low clouds and light moisture. By Friday, a stronger system will move through, bringing cooler air, some high clouds, and gusty winds—especially in areas like Lake and Mendocino Counties, where wind gusts could top 30 mph. Cooler, more humid weather is expected to continue into next week, with a slight and uncertain chance of thunderstorms early in the week.
