Extended Forecast: Over the past day, low pressure off the California coast pulled in moisture and heat, sparking thunderstorms in the mountains and along the coast, with lightning, strong winds, hail, and scattered rain. A similar setup is expected Tuesday, with more storms likely, especially in parts of Trinity and Mendocino Counties. These storms may be shorter-lived but still bring gusty winds and fire risks due to dry air.
