Weather & Tides-July 18, 2025

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE REPORT

Friday, July 18th, 2025

SYNOPSIS:  Conditions will remain hot and dry inland, while a deepened and a relatively persistent marine layer keeps temperatures cooler along some portions of the immediate coast.

TODAY:

Inland: Sunny, with a high near 91. Calm wind becoming south southwest 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon.

Along the Coast: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 61. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph.

TONIGHT:

Inland: Mostly clear, with a low around 54. South wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Along the Coast: Patchy fog after 2am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 52. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Extended Forecast:   Inland temperatures have been cooler lately due to a weather system to the north, and a deep marine layer is keeping coastal areas cloudy and cool, with possible overnight drizzle. There’s a slight chance (less than 5%) of dry thunderstorms in far northeast Trinity County, but the atmosphere doesn’t strongly support storm development. Some inland areas may warm slightly through Saturday, bringing brief moderate heat risk, but this will be short-lived. By Monday, cooler weather will return as the northern trough strengthens again, likely keeping things cooler into next week.
