SYNOPSIS: An upper level system is expected to linger near the
area through the week. Thunderstorms are possible in the interior
through Saturday with the highest chances Thursday and Friday. Near-
normal to slightly below normal temperatures expected this week.
TODAY:
Inland: Sunny, with a high near 85. Calm wind becoming southwest 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon.
Along the Coast: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 63. West southwest wind 3 to 8 mph. .
TONIGHT:
Inland: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54. West southwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Along the Coast: Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 53. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Extended Forecast: An upper-level low off the Central California coast is bringing slightly warmer weather to Northern California, with a small chance of dry thunderstorms in northern Trinity County on Wednesday. By Thursday, more moisture and instability move in, increasing the risk of thunderstorms that could bring lightning, brief heavy rain, and gusty winds up to 50–60 mph. Storms may linger into the evening and drift toward the coast, though confidence in that is low. Thunderstorm chances continue into Friday, possibly extending into Mendocino and Lake counties, but are expected to taper off by Saturday as the system moves east.
