SYNOPSIS: Slight thunderstorm chances continue each afternoon for interior areas around the Klamath Mountains. Near normal to slightly below normal temperatures expected into early this week. Another upper low could bring increase chances for thunderstorms by mid week.
TODAY:
Inland: Sunny, with a high near 92. Calm wind becoming north around 6 mph in the afternoon.
Along the Coast: Partly sunny, with a high near 62. Light north northwest wind increasing to 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon.
TONIGHT:
Inland: Increasing clouds, with a low around 53. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Along the Coast: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 53. North northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Extended Forecast: Isolated thunderstorms are possible in the Trinity Horn area Monday and Tuesday, though the chances are fairly low—less than 25% Monday and 15% Tuesday. Inland temperatures will stay seasonable, ranging from the upper 80s to low 90s, while the coast remains cooler with foggy mornings and highs in the 60s. By midweek, a low-pressure system from the Gulf of Alaska may bring a slight uptick in thunderstorm chances for interior areas, including northeast Humboldt and Del Norte counties. These weather patterns may affect fire activity near Mendocino, so residents should stay alert for changes in fire behavior due to lightning or shifting winds.
