NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE REPORT

SYNOPSIS: Breezy northwesterly winds forecast today and Saturday, with the strongest winds on coastal headlands and in Lake County. Coastal winds likely to clear stratus in the afternoons. Near normal temperatures forecast into the middle of next week.

TODAY: 

Inland:  Sunny, with a high near 77. North wind 9 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. 

Along the Coast: Cloudy early, then gradual clearing, with a high near 59. North northwest wind 6 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.

TONIGHT:  

Inland: Increasing clouds, with a low around 46. North wind 9 to 14 mph becoming light after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 22 mph. 

Along the Coast: Patchy fog after 2am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 47. North northwest wind 5 to 9 mph becoming calm in the evening. 

Extended Forecast:   A weakening high pressure system, due to an upper-level trough moving through the Pacific Northwest, will bring near to slightly above normal temperatures to interior areas through mid-next week. Gusty northwesterly to westerly winds are expected along the coast and in interior valleys today and Saturday, with some areas likely to see gusts over 30 mph. Afternoon humidity will be low in interior valleys, raising fire weather concerns. Precipitation chances remain minimal, though brief drizzle is possible along the coast early next week, and temperatures may trend cooler by late next week.
