SYNOPSIS: Increasing afternoon breezes and some fire weather concerns in southern Mendocino and Lake County this week. Warmer temperatures and minor HeatRisk concerns midweek. Cooler temperatures and light rain possible late week.
TODAY:
Inland: Mostly cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 80. North wind 7 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Along the Coast: Cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 60. Light north northwest wind increasing to 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon.
TONIGHT:
Inland: Increasing clouds, with a low around 45. North wind 5 to 9 mph becoming calm after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.
Along the Coast: Increasing clouds, with a low around 46. North northwest wind 5 to 9 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Extended Forecast: A weak cold front will move onshore in far northern California late Monday morning, bringing a slight chance of drizzle or light rain along the coast, especially north of Cape Mendocino. Inland temperatures will warm midweek, with highs in the 90s, before cooler air and gusty northerly winds arrive by Friday, raising potential fire weather concerns. Another stronger trough is expected late next week, possibly bringing light showers, a low chance of thunderstorms, and much cooler overnight temperatures, with lows in the 30s in some interior valleys.
