NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE REPORT

SYNOPSIS: Warm conditions continue, albeit a few degrees cooler than the previous few days. Relatively gusty winds will continue though earl this week. Warm and dry conditions for the first week of June are to be expected.

In Humboldt and Mendocino Counties, grass pollen counts are high. 

TODAY: 

Inland: Sunny, with a high near 87. North wind 8 to 10 mph.

Along the Coast: Sunny, with a high near 67. Breezy, with a north wind 6 to 11 mph increasing to 12 to 17 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 26 mph.

TONIGHT:  

Inland: Mostly clear, with a low around 51. North wind 5 to 11 mph.

Along the Coast:  Mostly clear, with a low around 50. Breezy, with a north wind 11 to 16 mph decreasing to 5 to 10 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.

Extended Forecast: Gusty northerly winds will persist near the North Coast into this afternoon, gradually diminishing through midweek. Strongest winds are expected in higher elevations, including the King Range and Klamath Mountains. Slight fire concerns exist Monday afternoon in interior areas such as eastern Trinity and Del Norte counties due to dry conditions and gusty winds. Warm and dry weather is forecast to continue across the interior through the first week of June.

Tonight	Wind	N 25 to 30 kt with gusts up to 45 kt.
	Waves	NW 15 ft at 11 seconds.

The coastal waters forecast from Cape Mendocino to Point Arena and out to 10 nautical miles.

Tonight	Wind	N 30 to 35 kt with gusts up to 45 kt.
	Waves	N 16 ft at 11 seconds. Patchy dense fog.

Lastly, here are the solar and lunar phases and tidal information : Today, Monday,  June 2nd, the sun rose in Shelter Cove at 5:49am and sunset will be at 8:41pm, for a total of 14 hours and 52 minutes of sunlight. The only low tide of the day will be at 11:25 am.  The next high tide will be at 6:31 pm.  The waxing crescent moon set at 1:35 am in the west. Eventually, the moon will rise again in the east at 12:42 pm. According to the solunar theory, today is a good day for fishing, the fish activity forecast is high.
