SYNOPSIS: Breezier winds possible today through Friday, bringing elevated fire weather concerns. Seasonable temperatures are expected to continue today through Friday, followed by hotter weather this weekend and into early next week. Moderate to locally major HeatRisk this weekend, especially on Sunday.

TODAY: 

Inland: Sunny, with a high near 83. North wind 10 to 13 mph.

Along the Coast: A slight chance of drizzle before 11am. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 65. Northwest wind 7 to 11 mph.

TONIGHT:  

Inland: Partly cloudy, with a low around 52. North wind 6 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. 

Along the Coast: Patchy fog after 2am. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a low around 50. North northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable in the evening. 

Extended Forecast:   Low clouds and fog are lingering along the North Coast, with some light drizzle due to a thick marine layer, but skies should gradually clear inland as the day warms up. Breezy northwest winds will stick around through Friday, with gusts up to 35 mph in higher and more open areas. A stretch of hot weather is on the way for the weekend into early next week, with valley temperatures reaching 97 to 105°F and some areas, especially in Trinity County, seeing higher heat risks. There’s also a small chance of dry thunderstorms early next week, depending on how a weather system off the coast moves.

The only high tide of the day will be at 1:55 pm, at 4.8ft.  The next low tide will be at 6:23 pm, at 2.9ft.  The waxing crescent rose in the northeast at 6:52 am and will set in the northwest at 10:32 pm.  According to the solunar theory, today is an excellent day for fishing, the fish activity forecast is very high.
