SYNOPSIS: Hot and dry weather will peak this weekend with highs near 100 for the interior. Warm and Sunny weather will even approach the coast by Sunday. There is a chance for scattered thunderstorms over the interior early next week.
TODAY:
Inland: Sunny, with a high near 89. North wind 9 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.
Along the Coast: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 66. Northwest wind 5 to 11 mph.
TONIGHT:
Inland: Mostly clear, with a low around 55. North wind 7 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Along the Coast: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable in the evening.
Extended Forecast: A strong high-pressure system will bring increasingly hot weather through the weekend, with inland valleys likely reaching 100°F or more by Sunday. Coastal areas will stay cooler on Friday but warm up noticeably over the weekend due to offshore winds. Early next week, temperatures will dip slightly as high pressure weakens, and there’s a chance of isolated thunderstorms, mainly in inland and mountainous areas. Most storms will bring little rain and could increase fire risk due to dry conditions.
