SYNOPSIS: Gusty northerly winds will continue to diminish each day through the week, but remain robust with steep elevated seas over the coastal waters. Hot and dry weather will continue each day this week as a ridge remains parked offshore Northwest California. Hotter weather is expected this weekend. Gusty northerly winds will continue to diminish into the middle of the week. Hot and dry conditions will continue this week as a ridge settles into Northwest California.
TODAY:
Inland: Sunny, with a high near 83. North wind 5 to 11 mph.
Along the Coast: Sunny, with a high near 65. Breezy, with a north northwest wind 9 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.
TONIGHT:
Inland: Mostly clear, with a low around 53. North wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light in the evening.
Along the Coast: Patchy fog between 11pm and 2am. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 49. North northwest wind 5 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.
Extended Forecast: Strong northerly winds along the North Coast are expected to gradually diminish after Wednesday, with calmer conditions continuing into the weekend. Interior areas will experience above-normal temperatures throughout the week, with a moderate HeatRisk developing and peaking over the weekend, especially in Trinity and Lake counties. Coastal areas will remain cooler due to marine influences, helping to limit heat impacts near the shore.
