SYNOPSIS: Gusty northerly winds will continue to diminish each day through the week, but remain robust with steep elevated seas over the coastal waters. Hot and dry weather will continue each day this week as a ridge remains parked offshore. Hotter weather in the interior is expected this weekend.

TODAY: 

Inland: Sunny, with a high near 87. Light and variable wind.

Along the Coast: Sunny, with a high near 65. North northwest wind 7 to 11 mph.

TONIGHT:  

Inland: Patchy fog after 5am. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 53. North wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Along the Coast:  Patchy fog after 5am. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 49. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Extended Forecast: Warm and dry conditions will persist across Northwest California through the weekend, with interior areas experiencing above-normal temperatures and a moderate HeatRisk, especially in Trinity and Lake Counties. Coastal regions will remain cooler due to persistent marine influence, though gusty northerly winds are expected to diminish Friday and return early next week. While fire weather concerns are minimal for now, new lightning-induced ignitions are possible under dry lower atmospheric conditions.
