SYNOPSIS: Warmer temperatures inland this weekend. A slight. chance of thunderstorms over the Klamath Mountains and the Yolla Bollas on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday afternoons. Windy afternoons return to NW California by the middle of next week.
TODAY:
Inland: Sunny, with a high near 87. Calm wind becoming south southwest 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon.
Along the Coast: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, cloudy through mid morning, then becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 66. West southwest wind 5 to 8 mph.
TONIGHT:
Inland: Increasing clouds, with a low around 56. South wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Along the Coast: Patchy fog after 8pm. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a low around 50. Southwest wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm after midnight.
Extended Forecast: A ridge building over the Pacific Northwest will bring increasingly hot conditions to interior Northwest California through early next week, with inland highs likely exceeding 100°F and a 30% chance of temperatures over 110°F in areas like Big Bar on Monday. Southerly winds and marine air may temper the heat near the coast and southern Mendocino County. A weak low aloft could trigger isolated thunderstorms Sunday into Monday, primarily over the higher terrain, though the probability is low. By midweek, a dry trough may return, bringing gusty winds.
