SYNOPSIS: Along the coast, strong winds with gusts of 45-55 mph will continue today
along with rain and the possibility of minor flooding in Humboldt and Del Norte
counties. High surf up to 24 feet will affect area beaches through Friday. Tonight, expect
more consistent rain and calmer winds.
TODAY:
Inland: Rain. High near 55. South wind 11 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.
Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half
of an inch possible.
Along the Coast: Rain. High near 56. Breezy, with a south wind 18 to 20 mph, with gusts
as high as 36 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between
a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
TONIGHT:
Inland: Rain. Low around 46. South southwest wind 5 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as
25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a half and
three quarters of an inch possible.
Along the Coast: Rain. Low around 44. Breezy, with a south southwest wind 9 to 17
mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation
amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Extended Forecast: After a brief break over the weekend, stormy weather will return by
Sunday, with rain and gusty winds expected through the first week of April. The main
concerns next week will shift to steady rainfall of 3-5 inches, with a chance of snow
levels dropping to 3000 feet, potentially impacting higher elevations.Looking ahead,
another storm system is likely by Sunday, potentially bringing strong winds and heavy
precipitation, with long-range forecasts indicating potential flooding concerns.
