SYNOPSIS: Dry weather with above normal interior high temperatures
expected again today. Chance of rain and interior thunderstorms are
forecast for Friday afternoon through Saturday. Much cooler temperatures
and strong blustery winds expected this weekend.
TODAY:
Inland: Sunny, with a high near 82. Calm wind becoming south southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.
Along the Coast: Partly sunny, with a high near 61. Light and variable wind becoming northwest around 6 mph in the afternoon.
TONIGHT:
Inland: Increasing clouds, with a low around 45. North wind around 6 mph.
Along the Coast: Patchy fog after 8pm. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Extended Forecast: Northwest California will continue to experience warm interior temperatures and coastal stratus through Friday, with inland highs reaching above normal and patchy coastal fog lingering. A weak trough arriving late Friday could trigger isolated thunderstorms over northeast Trinity County, followed by light rain and a shift to cooler, windier conditions Friday night into Saturday. Strong northerly winds—gusting 40 to 50 mph in some areas—are expected through the weekend, with a sharp temperature drop on Saturday. Frost is possible in interior valleys Sunday and Monday mornings, while a gradual warming trend is expected early next week under a building ridge.
