SYNOPSIS: Drying and warming trend today through the remainder of the week. Breezy northwest winds is anticipated each afternoon. A slight chance of precipitation returns on Saturday, but mostly dry weather conditions most likely persist over the weekend.
TODAY:
Inland: Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 68. Light north northwest wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.
Along the Coast: Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 58. Light north wind becoming north northwest 6 to 11 mph in the morning.
TONIGHT:
Inland: Partly cloudy, with a low around 45. North northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light north in the evening.
Along the Coast: Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 46. North wind 7 to 9 mph.
Extended Forecast: A shortwave ridge is building over Northwest California today, ushering in a slightly drier airmass and warming temperatures, with inland highs reaching the mid 60s to mid 70s and coastal areas remaining cooler in the 50s. Breezy northwest winds and valley fog are expected, especially overnight into Wednesday. A warming and drying trend will continue through the workweek, with interior highs climbing into the mid 70s to low 80s by Thursday and Friday, along with daily afternoon breezes. By the weekend, a trough from the Gulf of Alaska may bring a slight chance of showers to interior areas, though dry and cooler conditions remain the most likely scenario.
