SYNOPSIS: .A weak system will increase cloud cover and present low

chances for a few showers or light drizzle tonight through Saturday.

Breezy northwest winds are anticipated through the afternoons, with

increased strength Saturday and Sunday. A warming trend then

develops next week.

TODAY: 

Inland:  Mostly sunny, with a high near 74. Light north wind becoming north northwest 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon.

Along the Coast: Partly sunny, with a high near 60. North northwest wind 5 to 9 mph.

TONIGHT:  

Inland:  Patchy fog after 2am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 48. North northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Along the Coast: A 20 percent chance of showers after 2am. Cloudy, with a low around 48. North northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Extended Forecast: A weak front is exiting the region as a more defined offshore shortwave moves southward, bringing increased mid-to-high level clouds and cooler temperatures with limited precipitation expected. Coastal stratus will persist due to weak onshore flow, and only light showers or drizzle are anticipated, with minimal thunderstorm risk. Northerly winds will strengthen behind the front this weekend, with gusts up to 40 mph inland and potential frost in interior valleys Sunday and Monday mornings. A warming trend will follow next week as high pressure rebuilds, bringing a chance of inland temperatures exceeding 90°F and generally dry conditions.
