SYNOPSIS: Slight chance of drizzle along the north coast Thursday

morning. Upper level disturbances for the rest of this week and

weekend will bring cooling temperatures. Another period of warm

temperatures and high pressure this weekend before and another

chance for light rain Sunday into Monday.

TODAY: 

Inland:  Sunny, with a high near 75. North northwest wind 3 to 7 mph. 

Along the Coast:  Sunny, with a high near 60. Light north northwest wind becoming northwest 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon.

TONIGHT:  

Inland: Patchy fog after 2am. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a low around 45. North wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Along the Coast: Patchy fog after 2am. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a low around 45. North northwest wind 5 to 9 mph becoming calm in the evening. 

Extended Forecast: Breezy northwesterly winds will subside overnight as cloud cover increases along the northern coast due to an approaching upper shortwave and weak surface low, bringing a slight chance of drizzle to Del Norte and northern Humboldt counties. A weak trough passing north of the region Thursday and Friday will mainly result in mid-level clouds and cooler interior temperatures, with a decreasing chance of isolated thunderstorms in eastern Trinity County. High pressure will briefly return over the weekend, warming temperatures into the 70s and 80s. Another trough and frontal system may bring light precipitation to the area late Sunday into Monday.
