SYNOPSIS: A few light rain showers are possible before sunrise this morning, primarily north of Cape Mendocino. Breezy winds in Lake County ease after sunrise. Breezy northwest winds likely along the coast this afternoon and evening. A warming trend begins this week, possibly bringing triple digit heat to the interior by late-week. The pollen count for Humboldt County is very high for tree and grass pollen. In Mendocino County, the grass pollen count is high.
TODAY:
Inland: Mostly sunny, with a high near 73. North wind 6 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.
Along the Coast: Partly sunny, with a high near 60. North northwest wind 5 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.
TONIGHT:
Inland: Patchy fog after 2am. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 47. North wind 6 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.
Along the Coast: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47. North northwest wind 6 to 11 mph becoming light and variable after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph.
Extended Forecast: A weak front moving through tonight will bring light rain chances mainly to areas north of Cape Mendocino, with Del Norte expected to receive the most, though totals will be minimal. Breezy northwesterly winds are forecast along the coast, with gusts up to 30 mph, while interior Lake County may see gusts over 30 mph early Tuesday morning. High pressure builds Tuesday, bringing warmer temperatures inland, reaching into the 80s and 90s, though coastal areas may remain cooler depending on stratus cloud coverage. A weak system midweek may bring slight cloud increases and a minimal chance of rain to far northern areas, followed by a stronger ridge that could bring triple-digit heat and heat-related concerns by the weekend.
