SYNOPSIS: Sunny skies and warm inland temperatures are expected
again today. Winds will be lighter this afternoon, especially
along the coast. Tonight and Wednesday Coastal and valley clouds
are expected to increase along with cooler temperatures near the
coast. Thursday through Saturday warmer temperatures are expected
again. Late Sunday into Monday there is a chance of rain across
the area.
TODAY:
Inland: Sunny, with a high near 86. Light north northwest wind becoming north 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.
Along the Coast: Sunny, with a high near 66. Calm wind becoming northwest 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.
TONIGHT:
Inland: Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a low around 47. North wind 9 to 14 mph becoming light in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 22 mph.
Along the Coast: Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a low around 45. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Extended Forecast: High pressure remains centered over the West Coast, bringing warm inland temperatures and lighter winds, while coastal areas may briefly warm before a return of marine clouds tonight. An approaching upper-level trough will likely reintroduce stratus to the coast and river valleys by sunset, keeping coastal areas cooler through midweek with only limited clearing. Inland regions will see warming into the upper 80s to near 90°F by Friday, expected to be the warmest day of the week. Confidence is growing in measurable rain Sunday into Monday, with cooler temperatures and a higher chance of precipitation, especially in northern areas.
