SYNOPSIS: Slightly cooler weather is expected today with
temperatures warming again Thursday and Friday. Partial clearing
is expected at the coast. The marine layer is expected to remain
remain in place at the coast. A late season rain and cooler
temperatures are expected Sunday into early next week.
TODAY:
Inland: Mostly cloudy early, then becoming sunny, with a high near 78. North northwest wind 3 to 6 mph.
Along the Coast: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 60. Calm wind becoming north northwest 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.
TONIGHT:
Inland: Patchy fog after 2am. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 48. North northwest wind 5 to 9 mph becoming light north.
Along the Coast: Patchy drizzle after 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46. North wind 6 to 9 mph.
Extended Forecast: A weak shortwave has reintroduced the marine layer to the region, keeping coastal temperatures 5 to 10 degrees cooler with lingering low clouds and the potential for light drizzle tonight. From Thursday through Saturday, a flat ridge over the West Coast will allow the marine layer to persist, though some afternoon clearing is possible. A stronger trough is expected Sunday, likely bringing cooler temperatures and measurable rain to northern areas, though forecast models vary on rainfall amounts and coverage. Highs will drop into the upper 50s to low 60s, with uncertainty lingering around how long the rain will last into Tuesday.
