SYNOPSIS:  Warm, dry and calm conditions will peak tomorrow, and

then ease this weekend as a late seasons storm near the area.

Moderate rain and south wind will cross the area late Sunday

through Monday.

TODAY: 

Inland: Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Calm wind.

Along the Coast: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 61. Calm wind becoming northwest around 6 mph in the afternoon. 

TONIGHT:  

Inland:  Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47. North northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Along the Coast:  Patchy fog after 5am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. North northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Extended Forecast: Coastal stratus and patchy fog are expected to clear late this morning, giving way to warm and dry conditions through Saturday, with interior valleys reaching up to 95°F under a strengthening ridge. By Sunday, a trough moving in from the Gulf of Alaska will cool inland temperatures and bring increasing clouds, a deepening marine layer, and the chance for light showers beginning in Del Norte and Humboldt counties. The bulk of the rain is expected Sunday night through Monday, with 0.6–1.5 inches possible in favored areas, gusty south-southwest winds up to 45 mph on ridges, and light snow around 4500–5000 feet in the Trinity Alps and Scott Mountain Pass. Quieter, milder weather is anticipated to return by midweek.
