SYNOPSIS: A warm, dry pattern continues as high pressure builds
in. A system arrives Wednesday, returning precipitation and gusty
southerly winds. Wet weather continues through Friday.
TODAY:
Inland: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, partly sunny, then gradually becoming
sunny, with a high near 82. Calm wind becoming north around 6 mph in the afternoon.
Along the Coast: Patchy fog before 2pm. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 59.
Calm wind becoming northwest 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.
TONIGHT:
Inland: Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a low around 53.
North wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Along the Coast: Patchy fog. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 47.
Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Extended Forecast: A high-pressure system is bringing summer-like weather, with inland
temperatures in the 80s and coastal areas remaining cooler due to persistent fog. Tuesday
may be slightly warmer, with Ukiah having a 40% chance of tying its record high of
89°F. A low-pressure system will bring gusty winds, thunderstorms, and moderate to
heavy rain, particularly to Humboldt and Del Norte counties, from Wednesday through
Thursday. Snow levels will drop to 3500-4000 ft, potentially impacting higher mountain
passes, and another storm system is expected by Sunday.
