SYNOPSIS: A high-pressure system (called a “ridge”) will bring mostly clear skies and dry weather early to midweek, with very low humidity. Temperatures will start to heat up again in inland areas from Monday through midweek. There’s a chance that rain or thunderstorms could return later in the week.

TODAY: 

Inland: Sunny, with a high near 96. Light and variable wind.

Along the Coast: Sunny, with a high near 67. Calm wind becoming northwest around 6 mph in the afternoon.

TONIGHT:  

Inland: Clear, with a low around 58. Calm wind.

Along the Coast: Mostly clear, with a low around 55. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Extended Forecast: A warm-up is expected this week as high pressure builds over the West Coast, bringing mostly clear skies and dry weather. Temperatures will peak Monday through Wednesday, with interior valleys reaching the upper 90s to low 100s, especially around Willow Creek, Big Bar, and along Highway 96. Breezy offshore winds may develop in the mountains during this time. By midweek, a shift in the weather pattern could bring some moisture, with a slight chance (about 25%) of showers or thunderstorms later in the week.
