NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE REPORT

SYNOPSIS: Hot and dry weather will briefly build through Tuesday with gusty north winds near shore. Cooler weather will then return later in the week with scattered showers for the southern half of the area possible by Thursday into Friday.

TODAY: 

Inland: Sunny, with a high near 96. Light south southwest wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. 

Along the Coast: Sunny, with a high near 66. Calm wind becoming west northwest around 5 mph.

TONIGHT:  

Inland: Clear, with a low around 55. South southwest wind 5 to 9 mph becoming calm in the evening. 

Along the Coast: Patchy fog after 8pm. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a low around 55. Light and variable wind becoming north around 6 mph after midnight. 

Extended Forecast: Temperatures will peak on Tuesday, with some inland valleys possibly hitting 100°F. Gusty north winds will keep the coast mostly clear. Starting Wednesday, a cooling trend will begin as a weather system moves in, dropping temps into the 80s and bringing back more coastal clouds.

By Friday, tropical moisture could move in, increasing the chance for light rain—though it’s still uncertain how much will fall or exactly where. There’s a 65% chance that little to no rain will actually occur. Cooler, unsettled weather with possible showers may continue into early next week.
