SYNOPSIS: Warmer and drier weather will gradually build in Sunday through Tuesday. A troughing pattern could emerge by mid week.
TODAY:
Inland: Sunny, with a high near 96. North wind 3 to 6 mph.
Along the Coast: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 66. Calm wind becoming northwest around 6 mph in the afternoon.
TONIGHT:
Inland: Mostly clear, with a low around 55. North wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Along the Coast: Mostly clear, with a low around 53. Northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Extended Forecast: Early this week, inland areas will heat up again with highs in the 90s, and some valleys could even hit the low 100s by Tuesday. Coastal spots will stay cooler with low clouds and fog at night, but afternoons should clear up more. By midweek, a low-pressure system may bring cooler weather, more clouds, and a small chance of rain, especially in Lake and Mendocino counties. However, forecast models disagree on how much, if any, rain will actually reach Northwest California.
