SYNOPSIS: Isolated light showers will be possible for southern Lake and southern Mendocino Counties Wednesday. Otherwise, dry and stable weather with an increase in coastal fog and stratus is expected for the rest of this week. Additional troughs may yield some rain late in the weekend, with increasing chances through early next week.

TODAY: 

Inland: Sunny, with a high near 91. Calm wind becoming south southwest 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon.

Along the Coast: Partly sunny, with a high near 68. West wind around 6 mph.

TONIGHT:  

Inland: Mostly clear, with a low around 54. South southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. 

Along the Coast: Patchy fog after 8pm. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 55. West southwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm.

Extended Forecast: A low-pressure system is moving slowly up the Central California coast, bringing some lightning offshore and a small chance of showers or isolated thunderstorms into southern Lake and Mendocino counties. Most areas will stay dry, but stronger showers could bring gusty winds. Fog is likely overnight in coastal valleys and bays where moisture is trapped, especially near Humboldt Bay. Looking ahead, temperatures stay a bit above normal midweek, and rain chances increase late Sunday into Monday, though the amount of rainfall is still uncertain.
