Weather & Tides-Sept.25, 2025

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE REPORT

Thursday, September 25th, 2025

SYNOPSIS: Warm and dry weather will persist this week. Dry northerly flow will clear out most of the coastal stratus this week, allowing for better duration of coastal sunshine. Rain chances arrive late Sunday, with increasing probability for widespread rainfall through early next week. The opportunity for additional rainfall may continue through mid next week.

TODAY:

Inland: Sunny, with a high near 91. Light north northwest wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Along the Coast: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 64. Light northwest wind becoming north northwest 6 to 11 mph in the afternoon.

TONIGHT:

Inland: Mostly clear, with a low around 51. North wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light after midnight.

Along the Coast: Partly cloudy, with a low around 51. North northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light north after midnight.

Extended Forecast: A cutoff low-pressure system was parked over coastal Central California, bringing a few light showers to Lake and Southern Mendocino counties, though little rain reached the ground due to dry air. By Friday, a ridge of high pressure will bring notably warm temperatures, especially inland, with offshore winds picking up late Friday into Saturday. Cooler temperatures and increased chances for rain will arrive Sunday into Monday as a Pacific trough moves in, potentially bringing periods of heavier rain, welcomed in drought-affected areas. Another system may follow midweek, leading to more rainfall, breezy winds, and possibly even some frost in inland valleys by late week.
