Weather & Tides-September 1, 2025
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE REPORT
Monday, September 1st, 2025
SYNOPSIS: A warming trend will increase the HeatRisk and fire weather threat across the interior on Monday and then peak on Tuesday. The coast is expected to see night and morning clouds with some afternoon clearing most days. There is a slight chance of isolated dry thunderstorms on Tuesday in the interior. A gradual cooling trend is expected Wednesday through the weekend.
TODAY:
Inland: Sunny, with a high near 94. North wind 5 to 9 mph.
Along the Coast: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 65. North northwest wind 3 to 8 mph.
TONIGHT:
Inland: Increasing clouds, with a low around 52. North wind 5 to 9 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Along the Coast: Patchy drizzle after 11pm. Increasing clouds, with a low around 54. North northwest wind 3 to 8 mph.
Extended Forecast: High pressure is building into Northern California, which will bring warmer temperatures Monday, though the coast will stay mostly cloudy due to a strong marine layer. On Tuesday, a weather disturbance from the southwest could trigger a few thunderstorms over inland areas, but moisture will be limited, so if storms form they’ll likely be dry and could produce strong wind gusts up to 40–60 mph. Winds overall will be breezier Tuesday before conditions calm again Wednesday as the system exits. Temperatures will gradually cool through late week, with bigger drops by Friday and Saturday, when inland highs fall into the 80s–90s and the marine layer may finally weaken enough for better coastal clearing.
