KMUD’s new Community Resources and Calendar page is now live on the KMUD website,kmud.org/, under the COMMUNITY dropdown menu. Our improved calendar provides addresses, phone numbers and up to date information for farmers markets, food distributions, public meals, blood drives and other community services.
Here is the latest road status information from Caltrans:
The following roads are flooded:
- Hookton Rd at Eel River Dr
- Old Arcata Rd between Graham Rd and Jacoby Creek Rd
- Graham Rd
- Fernbridge Dr Northbound lane
- Zanes Rd
- Howard Heights
- Berta Rd
- Cannibal Island Rd .1 miles from Eel River Rd to end of the road
- Waddington Rd between the addresses of 2504 to 2400
- Nissen Rd from Goble to the end
The following roads are closed:
- Dillon from address 620 to 197
- Coffee Creek at P.M. 1.00 to 1.25
- Meridian from P.M. .50 to .90
- Camp Weott Rd
- Mad River Rd at P.M. 2.75, 2 miles northwest of Miller Lane
- Hall Ave due to Redwood Acres Emergency Staging
Drive Safely
Provided you have a valid Air Quality burn permit, Monday, December 29th is a permissive burn day in Mendocino, Humboldt and Del Norte counties. Residents in state responsibility areas must also obtain a Cal Fire burn permit. Please refer to your air quality burn permit for approved burn hours and restrictions.
In Humboldt, Food for People is hosting food distributions in McKinleyville from 10 until 3pm and Fortuna, from 10 until noon.
Tomorrow, and every Tuesday between noon and 3 pm, you can recharge at the Redway Baptist Church. For those living without a home, Bridging the Gap Ministries will welcome you for a hot meal, electronics recharging, clothing, and, as needed, there’s limited outdoor living supplies available. Get recharged every Tuesday, that’s tomorrow, from noon to 3pm at the Redway Baptist Church at 1055 Redway Drive. The Northern California Community Blood Bank’s blood mobiles will be at the Cal Poly Campus in Arcata from 11 until 4pm. And as always, the Northern California Community Blood Bank is open Monday thru Friday, located at 2524 Harrison Avenue in Eureka. To schedule an appointment to donate, visit nccbb.net.
In Mendocino, the Mendocino Food Network is hosting food distributions in Fort Bragg from 10 until 3:45pm and the Albion PopUp, 3512 Albion Ridge Rd, from 4 until 5pm.
Lunches are provided for seniors at the Willits Senior Center from 11:45 until 1:00pm, and the Redwood Coast Seniors Center in Fort Bragg from 11:30 until 1:15pm. Plowshares Peace and Justice Center in Ukiah provides a hot meal weekdays from 11:30 until noon. Every Monday, the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Bragg provides bagged lunches from noon until 12:30pm
Meals are provided Monday through Friday at Willits Daily Bread from 4:30 to 5:30pm and at the Mendocino Coast Hospitality House in Fort Bragg at 3pm.
