KMUD’s new Community Resources and Calendar page is now live on the KMUD website, kmud.org/, under the COMMUNITY dropdown menu. Our improved calendar provides addresses, phone numbers and up to date information for farmers markets, food distributions, public meals, blood drives and other community services.
Here are the latest road updates from Caltrans:
The following roads are flooded:
- Cannibal Island Rd from Cock Robin Island Rd intersection to the beach
- Waddington Rd between the addresses of 2504 to 2400
- Nissen Rd from Goble to the end
The following roads are closed:
- Dillon from address 620 to 197
- Coffee Creek at P.M. 1.00 to 1.25
- Meridian from P.M. .50 to .90
- Camp Weott Rd
- Mad River Rd at P.M. 2.75, 2 miles northwest of Miller Lane
Provided you have a valid Air Quality burn permit, Tuesday, December 30th, is a permissive burn day in Mendocino, Humboldt and Del Norte counties. Residents in state responsibility areas must also obtain a Cal Fire burn permit. Please refer to your air quality burn permit for approved burn hours and restrictions.
In Humboldt, Food for People is hosting food distributions in McKinleyville from 10 until 3pm; Eureka from 10 until 3:45pm; and Garberville, from 10:30 until noon.
Today, and every Tuesday between noon and 3 pm, you can recharge at the Redway Baptist Church. For those living without a home, Bridging the Gap Ministries will welcome you for a hot meal, electronics recharging, clothing, and, as needed, there’s limited outdoor living supplies available. The Redway Baptist Church is located at 1055 Redway Drive. If you have donations of food or warm coats to offer, or need additional information call 707-223-1560
The Northern California Community Blood Bank’s blood mobile will be at the Fortuna Farmers’Market from noon until 6pm. And as always, the blood bank is open Monday thru Friday, located at 2524 Harrison Avenue in Eureka. To schedule an appointment to donate, visit nccbb.net.
InMendocino, theMendocino Food Network is hosting food distributions in Ukiah from 9 until noon; Mendocino from 1:30 until 3pm; and Comptche, from 2 until 4pm.
Lunches are provided for seniors at the Willits Senior Center from 11:45 until 1:00pm, and the Redwood Coast Seniors Center in Fort Bragg from 11:30 until 1:15pm. Plowshares Peace and Justice Center in Ukiah provides a hot meal weekdays from 11:30 until noon. Meals are provided Monday through Friday at Willits Daily Bread from 4:30 to 5:30pm and at the Mendocino Coast Hospitality House in Fort Bragg at 3pm.
