SYNOPSIS: Seasonable temperatures are forecast through Thursday. Risk for heat-related illnesses will increase Friday through Sunday with triple digit high temperatures expected in the interior.

TODAY: 

Inland: Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. North wind 8 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Along the Coast: Partly sunny, with a high near 67. North northwest wind 3 to 8 mph. 

TONIGHT:  

Inland: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57. North wind 5 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. 

Along the Coast: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 58. North northwest wind 6 to 8 mph. 

Extended Forecast: Dry and stable weather is expected for most of the week, with temperatures around normal. Beginning Thursday, breezy winds will develop in some inland areas, with gusts up to 25-35 mph. By Friday and through the weekend, a big area of warm air will move in, pushing temperatures well above normal—into the 100s in many interior valleys—making for dangerous heat, especially Friday through Sunday. Early next week, some relief may reach a few coastal valleys, but much of the area will remain very hot, especially away from the coast.
