Extended Forecast: Interior valleys in Northern California are experiencing very hot weather, with temperatures from 100°F up to 110°F, resulting in a major risk of heat-related illness for anyone without proper cooling or hydration. Coastal areas remain much cooler, mostly in the 60s, thanks to stratus clouds and a persistent marine influence. The most extreme heat is expected to ease gradually starting Tuesday, as a shift in the weather brings increased onshore winds and cooler air, although inland temperatures may still reach the upper 90s to low 100s for a few more days. Later in the week, a stronger coastal influence and potential changes in the jet stream may further cool conditions and could even bring a slight chance of rain to far Northern California
