SYNOPSIS: Cloudy and misty conditions for Del Norte and Humboldt
counties tonight. Generally dry weather conditions and a warming
trend are expected to prevail across NW CA this coming week, with
periods of light rain/drizzle for the North Coast.
TODAY:
Inland: Patchy fog before 1pm. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 65. Calm wind.
Along the Coast: Increasing clouds, with a high near 59. Light and variable wind.
TONIGHT:
Inland: Patchy fog between 10pm and 4am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 42. Light west southwest wind.
Along the Coast: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50. Northwest wind 3 to 5 mph.
Extended Forecast: A strong high pressure system off the California/Mexico coast is blocking storms and keeping them aimed at Oregon and Washington, with only light rain occasionally reaching California’s far north coast through Tuesday. This high pressure will strengthen and move east during the week, bringing unusually warm weather to inland areas with temperatures potentially 10-20 degrees above normal from midweek through the weekend – possibly breaking temperature records like Ukiah’s 72°F record from 1958. The extended forecast shows this warm, dry pattern continuing through most of the week as the high pressure expands overhead. However, some weather models suggest the ridge may weaken next weekend, potentially allowing a storm system to bring significant rainfall (possibly over 1 inch) by Sunday or Monday,

According to the solunar theory, today is a bad day for fishing, the fish activity forecast is low, however, this is just a chance so we encourage you to take your rod and try it during solunar periods.
