SYNOPSIS: Areas of dense fog and low chances for coastal drizzle for portions of the North Coast through mid week. Generally dry weather and a warming trend are expected to prevail across NW CA this week, with record warmth likely for the interior.

TODAY:  

Inland: Patchy fog before 1pm. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 66. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon. 

Along the Coast: Sunny, with a high near 61. Northwest wind 6 to 8 mph.

TONIGHT:  

Inland: Patchy fog after 7pm. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 44. Calm wind.

Along the Coast: Areas of fog. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 45. Calm wind.

Extended Forecast: A pocket of fog and overcast skies will linger along the North Coast with light drizzle or occasional showers, while most other areas stay dry. Temperatures will rise steadily as a strong high-pressure ridge strengthens through the week. Interior valleys could warm to 10–20°F above normal, with highs likely reaching or exceeding 70°F by Thursday and Friday—possibly breaking records in places like Ukiah. Toward the weekend, the ridge is expected to weaken slightly, bringing a gradual increase in rain chances early next week.
