NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE REPORT

SYNOPSIS: Above normal temperatures and dry conditions will persist through Tuesday with overnight valley and coastal fog. Wet and unsettled weather conditions will impact the area starting mid to late in the day on Wednesday. This will bring heavy rain and wind Wednesday night. Thursday, snow levels are expected to drop as low as 4,000 feet with potential additional precipitation.

TODAY: 

Inland: Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 74. Light and variable wind.

Along the Coast: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 63. North northwest wind 3 to 6 mph.

TONIGHT:  

Inland: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50. North wind 3 to 6 mph. 

Along the Coast: Patchy dense fog before 1am, then patchy dense fog after 4am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 50. North northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Extended Forecast: A high-pressure system will keep northwestern California calm at first, with only slight cooling and some patchy morning fog Monday and Tuesday. By midweek, a stronger system will move in, bringing increasing southerly winds and rain starting Wednesday, becoming heavy that night into Thursday. One to three inches of rain could fall, potentially causing minor flooding in low-lying areas, and strong gusts may reach up to 50–60 mph near the coast. As colder air arrives Thursday, snow levels will drop to around 4,000 feet, possibly bringing snow to higher mountain passes like Scott Mountain. Conditions should ease Friday as high pressure returns, leading to drier weather before another system approaches late in the weekend.
