Redwood Community Radio and Vibe Queer Bar present Southern Humboldt PRIDE! An all ages FREE event that celebrates our fabulous queer community, Saturday, June 17th.

Live music, poetry, art, panels, vendors, dancers, drag queens, and SOOOO much more!

Come connect with your community, enjoy delicious food by the Lost Frenchman and El Cora while your thirst is quenched by cold local brews by the Gyppo Ale Mill, Humboldt Distillery craft organic cocktails and mocktails!

It’s rodeo weekend so feel free to wear your best country flair!

Plus, an official 21+ after party at the Brass Rail! A dollar from each drink sold will be donated and split between KMUD & Vibe Queer Bar!

MUSIC LINE UP:

NAMBRPAMS: electronic pop music with messages for mental health and self love! Originally hailing from the dirty Jerz, this fiery duo plays whatever genre they want. Justifer, drummer for Zelosis, will be playing electronic music for this show and Jessi Lea, known for her work as Hera Has A Heart will be holding down the vocals. This is their first performance as Nambrpams and they intend to get you moving to some weird electronic pop punk.

BETHISBELL: Beth Isbell (aka BeThisBell) is a graduate of the Academy of Contemporary Music at the University of Central Oklahoma, a music college run by The Flaming Lips. Her latest albums “Shine On!” (family friendly radio songs) and “BeThisBell (Remastered)” (hardcore alternative), and her Poetry Books, will be available at the event. BeTh is a former KMUD DJ. Her show The Flower Power Hour (60s and modern psychedelic rock mix) was once awarded Best AM Show and she has been a station anchor during Reggae On The River. BeTh is transgender and identifies as she/her and is looking forward to rocking out for you at Gay-MUD Pride! Check out her music here: Kief and Soul:

Hill Honey and the Wildcats: is a womxn fronted, multi-generational acoustic ensemble based in Humboldt County. This septet is self described #QueerCrunchyWestern. Redefining blue grass with their rowdy style, like herding cats, this bands sure to keep you on your toes.

Reflections: ‘Mirrors to the queer experience’ is a poetry and visual art collaborative project, focusing on expression of the LGBTQIA+ community in Humboldt, Trinity, and Mendocino Counties. This is a one time contest, where submissions have be juried by Wil Gibson (he/him) poet, owner of Swimming with Elephants Publications, and Eureka’s current Poet Laureate, Dylan Collins (he/him) poet, teacher, and founder of the Word Humboldt Poetry Show, and Kiki (she/her), artist and owner of Kiki Planet Productions. Selected poems have been given to selected artists, who will create art pieces to mirror the poem and their own perspectives. Their works will be displayed during the “Southern Humboldt Pride: GayMud!” and included in a chapbook. “Best of show” poetry and art collaboration will be selected at the event by attendees.
