Community Safety and Awareness Report for Tuesday, February 21st, 2012

•The next KMUD Community Journalism Class will be held this Saturday, February 25th, from 1 to 4pm at the KMUD Station in Redway.  Terri Klemetson and Dave Brooksher will teach Introduction to Radio Reporting.  Participants will learn basic recording skills, interviewing, ethics, and how to contribute to the KMUD Newsroom.  That’s February 25th, from 1 to 4pm at KMUD, the class is free, space is limited.  RSVP by emailing [email protected].

•Next week you might tune to 88.3 to find nothing there. Time to try a click to the left!  Starting this Wednesday, the installation of the new transmitter for KMUE begins. Progress and weather permitting, a tower crew will mount our new antenna on February 27th, or soon thereafter. Once that work is completed KMUE, 88.3, will be switched off and come back much better and stronger on 88.1 FM. Just a click to the left, and you’ll find your favorite station on 88.1!  More information is available at kmud.org

•Tune in tonight at 7pm for Friends of the Eel River.  That’s tonight, from 7 to 8pm, right here on KMUD.

This concludes the Community Safety and Awareness Report, which can be read online at kmud.org and heard weekdays at 11am, 3 pm, and as needed here, on KMUD.
