Community Safety and Awareness Report for Wednesday, March 7th, 2012

•By this weekend you might tune to 88.3 to find nothing there. Time to try a click to the left!  The installation of the new transmitter for KMUE has begun. Progress and weather permitting, a tower crew will mount our new antenna this week. Once that work is completed KMUE, 88.3, will be switched off and come back much better and stronger on 88.1 FM. Just a click to the left, and you’ll find your favorite station on 88.1.

•The Humboldt County Health and Human Services Mobile Outreach Program will be in Redway once again this Thursday, March 8th, from 10am to 2pm.  They will be offering assistance with MediCal, CMSP, and CalFresh.  Referrals for county mental health services including assessments, counseling and ongoing case management will also be available at the Redway First Baptist Church on Redway Drive this Thursday.

•Tune in to Redwood Community Radio, KMUD, tonight from 7 to 8pm for the Civil Liberties Hour.  They will be talking about a variety of topics, starting with California NORML director, Dale Gieringer and the new medical marijuana court rulings and related items. Other topics for the program will include the Humboldt County Public Protest Ordinance, 1st Amendment Petition, and more.  This will be a call in program.  Listener participation is encouraged.  Tune in and be informed tonight at 7pm.

This concludes the Community Safety and Awareness Report, which can be read online at kmud.org and heard weekdays at 11am, 3 pm, and as needed here, on KMUD.
