Man stabbed to death in Hoopa

According to a news release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department, dated August 13, 2011:

On August 13, 2011 at about 3:44 AM Hoopa Valley Tribal Police Officers and Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a stabbing that had just occurred at a residence on Cherry Flat Road, Hoopa. Upon arrival in the area, Deputies located an adult male, age 36, with what appeared to be a puncture wound to the chest. The adult male was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.  Witnesses at the scene identified the suspect in this case as Virginia June Doolittle, Female, age 39. At about 6:58 AM Doolittle was located by Hoopa Valley Tribal Police Officers at a residence on Pine Creek Road, Hoopa, and taken into custody. Doolittle was booked at the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on a charge of 187(a) PC – Murder. Bail was set at one million dollars. 
 
The investigation into this incident continues and search warrants are expected to be served. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
